Smell Like Lettuce

Let me tell you a story.  Once upon a time, there were three little girls.  Their names were Brittany, Mackenzie, and Misty Jo.  One night as the girls were sitting at the kitchen table, Mackenzie decided to pinch the straw coming out of her water bottle.  Much to everyone's surprise, water shot from the water bottle into the air.  Mackenzie laughed, Misty went wide-eyed, and Brittany reached for the bottle to try squeezing it, too.  Mackenzie snatched back the water bottle and squirted Brittany before running out of the room.

Brittany rushed to the fridge for a pitcher of cold water.  Sadly, the pitcher had lots of lettuce in it, so it wouldn't be ideal for soaking someone.  So Brittany poured some of the water into a cup conveniently located on the table.  Misty went wide-eyed once again, so Brittany almost second-guessed herself, but it was too late.  Just as Mackenzie rounded the corner to re-enter the kitchen, Brittany threw the water RIGHT IN HER FACE.

Mackenzie was soaked.  Brittany had to make a trip to the bathroom because she was laughing so hard.  When she came out, she was wary of Mackenzie, because she might want revenge, but all seemed well, so she sat down at the kitchen table again.  Mackenzie called from her bathroom saying that she was soaking, and Brittany laughed some more before going to check on Mackenzie and give her a hug, because the hug would make Brittany wet, too, so then everything would be even.

But OH NO!

Mackenzie had anticipated Brittany's arrival and soaked her with another cup of water.  Brittany replied "I was coming to give you a hug!"  Misty Jo heard that from the kitchen and fell TO THE GROUND in laughter.  Brittany went back to the kitchen and found a full cup of water on the counter.  So she threw it at Mackenzie.  Mackenzie looked confused for a moment before shouting

"MISTY!"

Then Brittany realized that Misty was supposed to use that cup of water that was so strategically placed on the counter to get Brittany even wetter.  So Brittany filled the cup again and threw it at Misty.  Misty and Brittany fought at the sink for a while before the battle ended, with Brittany as the apparent victor.

Later that night, Mackenzie made two remarks:

"I smell like lettuce..."

"WHY the LETTUCE water?"

And they were giggling ever after. The end.
